SAP S/4HANA – Loftware Integration Consultant (Freelance)

Role Summary
Experienced SAP S/4HANA–Loftware Integration Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in Loftware enterprise label-printing solutions. Responsible for designing, configuring, integrating, and supporting SAP S/4HANA and Loftware Cloud/Enterprise SP for label printing across manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and shipping. Must independently handle the full lifecycle — Business Requirement → SAP Output Configuration → SAP Data → Integration → Loftware Business Rules → Template/Data Mapping → Print Automation → Printer → Job Status/Feedback → Production Support. This is not a pure SAP functional role or a standalone Loftware template-design role.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP Output Management
- Configure and support SAP S/4HANA output determination for label printing: NAST/condition technique, BRFplus, Output Parameter Determination, Adobe Forms
- Analyze SAP business processes to identify trigger points for label printing; work with functional teams to map required master/transactional data (material, batch, quantity, GTIN, handling unit, delivery, customer, ship-to, and related logistics data)
- Support label printing across production, warehouse, inventory, packing, delivery, and shipping processes
SAP–Loftware Integration
- Design, configure, and maintain SAP–Loftware integrations using RFC, IDoc, APIs, or web services
- Own the end-to-end data flow: SAP S/4HANA → Integration Layer → Loftware → Print Queue → Printer
- Troubleshoot integration failures, data-transformation issues, communication errors, and job-status feedback
- Coordinate with SAP BASIS, infrastructure, network, and integration teams for connectivity and configuration
Loftware Templates & Business Rules
- Design, develop, and maintain Loftware label templates and business rules (label selection, conditional logic, printing behavior)
- Map SAP-sourced fields into templates: material, batch, GTIN, product description, quantity, manufacturing/expiry dates, handling unit, delivery, customer/ship-to, and regulatory/compliance data
- Support barcode and 2D barcode requirements including GS1-related labeling
- Maintain template versions and support movement across environments; troubleshoot rendering, data-mapping, barcode, and printer-output issues
Loftware Automation & Printing
- Configure and troubleshoot Loftware Automation, print queues, printers, print servers, and printer drivers
- Support automated print workflows triggered from SAP; investigate failed, delayed, duplicate, or misrouted print jobs
- Support job-status monitoring and feedback mechanisms
Connectivity & BASIS Coordination
- Coordinate RFC destinations, gateway configuration, network connectivity, firewall requirements, authentication, certificates, and integration endpoints with BASIS/infrastructure teams
- Analyze logs and technical traces to isolate integration or printing failures
- Support testing, deployment, cutover, and post-go-live activities; document integration architecture, templates, business rules, and troubleshooting procedures
Required Skills
SAP S/4HANA
- 8–10 years overall SAP experience; strong hands-on S/4HANA (on-prem and/or private cloud)
- Strong understanding of SAP output/printing processes: NAST/Condition Technique, Output Determination, BRFplus, Output Parameter Determination, Adobe Forms, SAP print configuration
- Good understanding of SAP logistics processes: MM, PP, WM/EWM, SD, delivery and shipping
Loftware
- 3–4+ years hands-on Loftware integration specifically with SAP S/4HANA
- Strong experience with Loftware Cloud and/or Loftware Enterprise SP
- Hands-on with Loftware Designer, label template development, business rules, data mapping, Loftware Automation, print queues, printer configuration/drivers, and label deployment/version management
- Ability to independently troubleshoot Loftware production issues
Integration
- Strong understanding of SAP-to-third-party integrations
- Hands-on with one or more of: RFC, IDoc, REST/SOAP APIs, web services, JSON/XML, middleware/integration platforms
- Ability to troubleshoot across SAP, middleware, Loftware, and printer infrastructure
Functional exposure (advantageous)
- Manufacturing/production, warehouse management, inventory, packing/handling units, delivery/shipping, logistics, product compliance, regulatory/EHS labeling

- Loftware Integration for SAP BTP/S4HANA Cloud connector
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud experience
