Established in 1987, with the vision, to create excellent and equitable eye care systems that reach all those in need, the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), a comprehensive eye health institute, is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Prevention of Blindness.
The LVPEI's five-tier Eye Health Pyramid model, covering all areas of the community right from the villages to the city, provides high quality and comprehensive preventive, curative, and rehabilitative eye care to all. The LVPEI Eye Care Network has over 300 centres across the Indian states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Karnataka. It has till date served over 36.89 million (3 crores 68 lakh people), with more than 50% entirely free of cost, irrespective of the complexity of care needed.
The Institute operates through its ten functional arms – Clinical Services, Education, Research, Vision Rehabilitation, Rural and Community Eye Health, Eye Banking, Advocacy and Policy Planning, Capacity Building, Innovation, and Product Development.
LVPEI is managed by two not-for-profit entities – Hyderabad Eye Institute (HEI) and Hyderabad Eye Research Foundation (HERF). In addition, L V Prasad Eye Innovations, is a section 8 company that manages our product innovations
Job Description:
1. Weekly Planning & School Approvals
· Prepare a weekly planner for school screening activities, to consider the targets, number of team members and available consents and approvals from the school to conduct the activity.
· Approach schools locally, explain the school screening project, and seek formal approval.
· Upon approval, collect school SPOC details (teacher's name, phone number).
· Coordinate with the school to identify suitable space for screening and eye examination.
2. Consent & School Readiness
· Support the screening team in resolving any consent-related issues with schools and parents.
· Schools that do not agree initially should be temporarily parked and re-approached later.
· If approval is still not granted after follow-up, escalate the status to Program Manager with details.
3. Daily Coordination, Weekly reviews & Reporting
· Ensure that all screening teams report to the assigned schools-attendance tracking, monitoring of assigned tasks of the team at the schools and communication of the teams in a timely manner to the shcools
· Daily reports to be shared and reviewing the team's work on a weekly basis
· Monitor the screening process + approach the new set of schools. Monitoring- review the process, the team reported at schools, support the team if there are any problems (like consent given, screening started, data back-up happening, tab working etc.).
4. School Pipeline Management
· Continuing new schools in parallel while ongoing screenings are in progress.
· Maintain a clear pipeline of
o Approved schools
o Pending approvals
o Rejected / deferred schools (with reasons)
5. Referral Tracking and Conversion - Referral Follow-Up
6. Tracking Prescribed Glasses Booking and Dispensing Review
7. App – User registration, School registration
8. Recruitment of Field assistants (support to HR) and training of the team
