Job Description

The Loan Closer I supports Consumer and Mortgage Loan Processing by preparing and reviewing documentation required for loan closings. This role ensures that all closing packages are complete, accurate, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements while collaborating with closing agents and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Loan Closing Support:

  • Prepare legal, regulatory, and custom loan closing documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Review loan documents prior to submission to closing agents to ensure completeness and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with closing agents to obtain all necessary information for accurate and timely loan closings.

Quality Control & Process Assistance:

  • Perform quality reviews and analyze loan documentation for errors or inconsistencies.
  • Provide support to Processing staff as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is properly filed and maintained.

Customer & Partner Interaction:

  • Respond to phone and email inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Maintain positive business relationships with partners, customers, and closing agents.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Entry-level position; prior knowledge of lending practices is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of loan processing procedures and ability to follow guidelines.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Detail-oriented with strong ability to audit and correct procedural errors.
  • Excellent customer service, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in PC applications and working knowledge of bank loan products.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload and meet strict deadlines.
  • Flexible to work variable schedules, including nights and/or weekends.
