About The Role

We are looking for a senior operations leader to head Quick Commerce Last Mile Operations for one of our fastest-growing quick commerce client in India owning end-to-end performance, expansion, and profitability across all cities.

This is a highly strategic and execution-heavy role, responsible for scaling quick commerce networks, building strong regional leadership teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring consistent service levels and cost discipline across geographies.

The National Head will act as the single owner for last-mile outcomes at a national level, working closely with Business, Client, Finance, Product, and Tech teams to support growth while maintaining operational control and profitability.

Key Network Expansion & Scale

  • Own national rollout strategy for last mile operations across existing and new cities.
  • Lead city launches, including store launches, manpower planning, vendor onboarding, training, and SOP deployment.
  • Drive rapid ramp-ups for new stores, pilots, and seasonal peaks.
  • Standardize launch playbooks and expansion frameworks across regions.

Operational Excellence & Service Reliability

  • Own national SLAs, service quality metrics, and operational KPIs across all cities.
  • Drive performance audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Improve customer experience by reducing cancellations, RTO, delivery delays, and store-level failures.

Cost Strategy, P&L & Profitability

  • Drive cost optimization across manpower, fleet, vendor contracts, routing, and DE's productivity.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate reconciliation, payout controls, and profitability tracking at city and hub levels.
  • Develop scalable cost models that balance SLA performance with margin targets.

Leadership, Team Building & Capability Development

  • Build and lead regional and city operations leadership teams.
  • Set performance goals, productivity benchmarks, and review mechanisms.
  • Drive leadership development, succession planning, and grooming of high-potential managers.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and data-driven decision-making across operations teams.

Experience & Background

  • Experience working with fast-growing platforms in high-volume environments.
  • 10-13+ years of experience in logistics, hyperlocal delivery, e-commerce, or quick commerce operations.
  • Proven experience in leading multi-city or national-level last-mile operations.
  • Strong exposure to managing 3P logistics partners, fleet vendors, and large ground teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of P&L, cost structures, and profitability at scale.
  • Experience working with fast-growing platforms in high-volume environments.

  • Strong business mindset with a clear understanding of cost vs service trade-offs.
  • Highly data-driven, with comfort using dashboards, KPIs, and analytics for decisions.
  • Strong people leader with experience building leadership pipelines.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-scaling environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills
