Role Overview

As a Linux Systems Engineer at QPiAI India Private Limited, you will be the backbone of our server infrastructure. We are looking for a Linux expert with 3 to 6 years of experience, who is a natural problem solver and is comfortable working across diverse environments. In this role, you won't just manage servers—you will build, optimize, and secure the foundation of our growing startup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Linux Administration: Lead the full lifecycle management (implementation, configuration, and maintenance) of Linux-based systems, including Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, or Debian.
  • Infrastructure Management: Proactively monitor system performance, ensure high availability, and lead server-side troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement critical security patches, manage user permissions, and ensure the integrity of the Linux system's network and data.
  • Networking & Connectivity: Manage and configure core services including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, and Firewall configurations.
  • Team Collaboration: Act as a technical anchor within the IT team, documenting processes and collaborating with developers to streamline deployments.
  • Technical RequirementsCore Linux: Deep expertise in the Linux CLI, shell scripting (Bash/Python), and kernel tuning.
  • Networking: Strong understanding of networking protocols and Linux systems firewall management.
  • Troubleshooting: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex Linux OS and hardware-level issues under pressure.
  • System Hardening: Experience in securing Linux environments and managing internal repositories/package management.

Optional & Preferred SkillsWhile our environment is Linux-centric, the following skills are considered a plus:

  • Hybrid Environments: Experience managing/integrating Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Windows Server environments with Linux infrastructure.
  • Windows Administration: Familiarity with Windows AD, Group Policy (GPO), and Windows DNS servers.
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Container orchestration).
  • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Automation: Knowledge of Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
