POSITION SUMMARY:

Our innovative company is looking to fill the role of Linux Administrator. Day to day activities include developing and documenting system specifications, implementing OS, maintaining high operational uptime stringent SLAs, coordinating with applications and database teams and other operational and project-based tasks as well as mentoring teammates and developing KPIs and operational standards. This is a junior-level position so please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in Linux patch management
  • Must have Good knowledge of RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
  • Familiarity with command-line tools and basic shell scripting.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as RedHat Certified System Administrator - AIX, are a plus.
  • Follow ITIL-based processes for incident, change, and problem management.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations and standard operating procedures
  • Assist in patch management and routine maintenance activities
  • Respond to incidents and service requests related to Linux and VMware systems
  • Perform basic system administration tasks such as user management, file system management, and log monitoring.
  • Monitor Linux servers and VMware infrastructure for performance and availability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in Linux system administration and VMware virtualization.
  • Must have experience of deploying VM's in VMware virtual environment.
  • Familiarity with command-line tools and basic shell scripting.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and on-call rotations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ready to work in 24X7 Shifts & on call schedule.
  • The post holder will be expected to undertake training to ensure that her/his skills are current.
