Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to manage, monitor, and maintain Linux-based systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in Linux server administration, troubleshooting, scripting, patching, and system performance tuning. You will be responsible for ensuring system availability, reliability, and security across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) servers in physical, virtual, or cloud environments.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, OS, network, or applications.
  • Apply patches and updates, manage kernel tuning, and automate tasks using shell scripting or tools like Ansible.
  • Perform regular system backups and recovery using tools like rsync, Bacula, or Veeam.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies to ensure system integrity.
  • Set up and maintain web servers, application servers, and services like Apache, Nginx, SSH, FTP, DNS, and NFS.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
  • Support cloud deployments and operations in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
  • Assist in incident response, disaster recovery planning, and compliance audits.

Required Skills:

  • 45 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux OS internals, including file systems, networking, and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with bash/shell scripting, and exposure to Python is a plus.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with system hardening, firewalls (iptables, firewalld), and SELinux/AppArmor.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
  • Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly in AWS or Azure.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • RHCSA or RHCE certification is highly desirable.
