Roles & Responsibilities:
- Review scanning tool results in ServiceNow and analyze vulnerabilities based on risk level, exploitability, and business impact
- Prioritize remediation efforts for Critical, High, and Medium severity application security vulnerabilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and 3rd-party vendors to identify, schedule, and implement application security fixes
- Address common application vulnerabilities through scripting, automation, and standardized remediation approaches
- Track vulnerability tickets, security exceptions, and remediation status to ensure timely closure and compliance
- Provide advisory support and process walkthroughs to application teams for effective vulnerability remediation
- Coordinate with application teams and submit change requests required for vulnerability remediation activities
- Coordinate and assist application teams with opening and managing support tickets with 3rd-party vendors
- Administer and support Red Hat Linux environments and maintain system stability and security compliance
- Support Java applications and middleware technologies including Rabbit MQ, PostgreSQL, and Apache Tomcat
- Develop and maintain advanced Bash shell scripts to automate operational and security-related tasks
- Ensure adherence to security standards and protocols including SSL, TLS, AES encryption, and OWASP Top 10 best practices
Experience Required:
- 2 - 4 years of experience in Linux administration, cybersecurity, or application security environments
- Strong expertise in Red Hat Linux administration, vulnerability management, patching, and security remediation
- Hands-on experience writing advanced Bash shell scripts for automation and operational support
- Experience supporting Java applications and middleware components such as Rabbit MQ, PostgreSQL, and Apache Tomcat
- Good understanding of SSL, TLS, AES encryption, and network/application security protocols
- Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 standards and application vulnerability assessment methodologies
- Experience working with ServiceNow vulnerability workflows and vulnerability management modules
- Ability to assess, prioritize, and coordinate remediation of application vulnerabilities based on risk and exploitability
- Exposure to automation tools such as Ansible is an added advantage
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
