Line Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Line Engineer to join our production team at a leading drinking water manufacturing company in Oman.

The Line Engineer will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the production line, effective manpower utilization, machine troubleshooting, production efficiency, quality, safety, and minimizing operational costs.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in the beverages/drinking water manufacturing industry, preferably with experience working on Newamstar machinery and production lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise production line manpower to ensure optimum utilization and productivity.
• Plan and allocate manpower according to production requirements and machine operations.
• Monitor the complete production line and ensure smooth and continuous operation.
• Handle troubleshooting and breakdowns related to:
• Bottle Blowing Machines
• Labelling Machines
• Filling Machines
• Shrink Wrapping Machines
• Conveyors and related production-line equipment
• Identify machine problems quickly and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely rectification.
• Reduce machine downtime and improve overall equipment efficiency.
• Monitor production targets, output, machine performance, and production losses.
• Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, materials, utilities, and other production resources.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manpower and operational costs without affecting production or quality.
• Ensure the production line operates according to approved production plans and schedules.
• Monitor changeovers, machine settings, line start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Ensure proper operation and coordination between blowing, filling, labelling, and packing sections.
• Monitor production quality and ensure compliance with company standards and food safety requirements.
• Maintain proper production records, downtime reports, shift reports, and machine-related records.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Train, guide, and develop machine operators and production workers.
• Ensure operators follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety procedures, and good manufacturing practices.
• Monitor wastage, rejection, bottle defects, leakage, labelling issues, and other production losses.
• Analyze production problems and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S standards within the production area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce production costs.
• Ensure compliance with company health, safety, hygiene, and environmental requirements.
• Prepare and submit daily/shift production reports to management.
