Lighting Technician

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lighting Technician role based in Chennai. The Lighting Technician will assist in implementing lighting designs, including installing fixtures, routing and connecting electrical wiring, and setting up lighting control systems according to project plans and safety standards. The role involves testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining lighting equipment to ensure optimal performance in residential, retail, and specialty environments. The technician will collaborate with designers, project managers, and contractors to translate technical plans into precise on-site executions. Daily responsibilities also include documenting work, maintaining inventory of lighting equipment and tools, and supporting mock-ups and on-site adjustments during project commissioning.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in Lighting, Lighting Design, and Lighting Control for architectural and specialty environments.
• Ability to read and interpret lighting layouts, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical and safety standards, with a focus on on-site best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with designers, contractors, and other site professionals.
• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfort working on-site in varied environments and adapting to project schedules and deadlines.
