Liferay Developer – Environment & Deployment

Role: Liferay Developer / Liferay Platform Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Liferay Developer / Platform Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Liferay DXP/Portal environment setup, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate should be capable of setting up Liferay environments from scratch and supporting Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments. The candidate will work closely with Development and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployments, environment stability, performance, and production releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain Liferay environments across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production.
• Install and configure Liferay DXP / Liferay Portal, preferably Liferay 7.x.
• Configure and manage application servers such as Apache Tomcat and JBoss.
• Configure and maintain databases including MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL for Liferay environments.
• Deploy and manage Liferay modules, themes, portlets, and plugins.
• Configure and support CI/CD pipelines for automated Liferay deployments.
• Integrate and manage Elasticsearch for Liferay search functionality.
• Troubleshoot application, environment, deployment, and configuration-related issues.
• Perform server configuration, performance tuning, log analysis, and issue resolution.
• Work with Linux/Unix environments and perform server-level troubleshooting using shell scripting.
• Coordinate with Development and DevOps teams for application releases and production deployments.
• Support environment upgrades, configuration changes, and release activities.
• Implement and maintain appropriate security configurations for Liferay environments.

Required Skills

• 4–6+ years of hands-on experience with Liferay DXP / Liferay Portal.
• Strong experience with Liferay 7.x environments.
• Hands-on experience setting up and configuring Liferay environments from scratch.
• Good understanding of Liferay architecture, Java, and OSGi modules.
• Strong experience with Apache Tomcat or similar application servers.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with database configuration and connectivity, preferably MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch setup, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Docker / containerization.
• Exposure to AWS or Azure.
• Experience with application/server performance tuning and monitoring.
• Knowledge of Liferay security configuration.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale Liferay applications and production environments.
