About the Role
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead Liaisoning and Licensing operations, ensuring seamless regulatory approvals for our retail stores, processing units, warehouses, and logistics hubs.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong government relationships, regulatory expertise, and operational execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all statutory licensing and regulatory approvals in Karnataka including FSSAI, Labour, Pollution Control, Fire & Safety, Legal Metrology, BBMP, APMC, Excise (where applicable), and other state regulations.
- Own end-to-end acquisition, renewal, and compliance management of licenses across physical infrastructure.
- Act as the primary liaison with municipal bodies, regulatory departments, law enforcement, and food safety authorities.
- Provide strategic guidance to leadership on regulatory feasibility for expansion.
- Track and interpret regulatory changes; assess business impact and mitigation plans.
- Manage inspections, audits, escalations, and ensure timely resolution of compliance matters.
- Build and oversee a network of consultants, legal advisors, and compliance partners across Karnataka districts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Development, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, Projects, and CX teams to ensure smooth store launches.
- Represent the organization in relevant government and industry forums.
Candidate Profile
- 1015 years of experience in Licensing, Liaisoning, or Regulatory Affairs.
- Strong exposure to state-level authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Proven experience in retail, FMCG, food-tech, QSR, or multi-location expansion environments.
- Deep understanding of Karnataka regulatory landscape.
- Strong network within municipal bodies, FSSAI officials, BBMP, labour departments, etc.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex timelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Administration, or Business (advanced certifications preferred).
- Multilingual proficiency is an added advantage.
