Role Description The LIC Bima Sakhi role (Hiring 2026) is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The role involves engaging with prospective and existing policyholders, explaining LIC's insurance and investment products, and helping customers select plans suited to their financial and protection needs. The Bima Sakhi will conduct regular outreach activities, participate in community and customer meetings, and support awareness campaigns about life insurance and financial security. Daily responsibilities include generating leads, maintaining accurate customer records, assisting with policy documentation, and coordinating with branch staff to ensure timely service and policy issuance. The role also includes ongoing follow-up with policyholders for renewals, service requests, and basic claim support, while adhering to LIC's ethical standards and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service, relationship-building, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with diverse communities.
  • Basic sales and marketing abilities, including lead generation, presentation of products, and closing of proposals in a consultative manner.
  • Ability to understand financial concepts, such as savings, protection, and retirement planning, and explain them in simple language.
  • Comfort with basic documentation, record-keeping, and use of digital or computer-based systems for policy and customer data.
  • Minimum educational qualification as per LIC and regulatory norms (typically higher secondary or graduate level); prior experience in insurance, banking, or financial services is an advantage.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and adherence to regulatory and organizational guidelines, with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in local language(s) and working knowledge of English or Hindi; familiarity with the local community in and around Mumbai is beneficial.
