Job Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and high-quality Service Desk services, including After Office Hours (AOH) duties during designated weekday evening and weekend opening hours.
- Assist users with borrowing, returning, and general enquiries in accordance with library policies and procedures.
- Perform collection maintenance activities to ensure library materials remain organised and accessible.
- Operate the Library Management System (LMS) to support day to day library operations.
- Train and guide Student Assistants in carrying out library operational tasks and procedures.
- Monitor library user spaces and report maintenance, cleanliness, and facilities issues.
- Troubleshoot basic library equipment issues and report faults where necessary.
- Perform administrative duties, including staff and Student Assistant rostering, procurement support, and budget tracking.
- Prepare operational statistics and reports as required.
- Support day to day library operations and operational projects as assigned.
- Support workplace safety by carrying out safety related responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the reporting officer.
Qualifications and Competencies
Essential
- GCE O Level, NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent qualification. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Service oriented with a strong customer focus.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Able to adapt to changing operational requirements.
Work Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8.30 am to 5.45 pm.
- Friday: 8.30 am to 5.15 pm
- Lunch: 45 minutes
After Office Hours (AOH) Services
Duty rosters will be communicated in advance.
Weekdays (estimated once a week)
- Monday to Thursday: 2.45 pm to 9.45 pm
- Friday: 3.30 pm to 9.45 pm
Saturday (estimated once a month)
Sunday (during pre examination and examinationperiods, where required)
Additional Information
- Deployment across multiple Library locations may be required based on operational requirements.
- This is a fully campus-based position (No WFH arrangements).
- The role requires flexibility to support day to day library operations, including evening and weekend duties according to the duty roster.
