Role: Legal Executive
Location: Mumbai
Experience: 3-8 years PQE (all levels considered based on skills and fit)
Role Summary
The Legal Executive will manage end-to-end contracting and legal support for business teams in a fast-paced fintech environment. This includes drafting/reviewing agreements, vendor onboarding, contract execution, CLM administration, compliance coordination, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, vendor agreements, service agreements, consultancy agreements, amendments, and addendums.
- Ensure contract terms align with business requirements, internal policies, risk standards, and applicable regulations (e.g., DPDPA, contract law basics).
- Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle from intake to execution, including tracking approvals, maintaining versions, and closure.
- Own contract execution workflows such as e-sign/physical execution, stamping requirements (as applicable), and storage of signed copies.
- Maintain and administer CLM tools (e.g., contract creation, workflows, approvals, metadata, renewal alerts, repository hygiene, dashboards).
- Support vendor management including onboarding documentation, negotiation of terms, renewals, terminations, and compliance checks.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Business/Sales/Procurement/Finance/Operations) to provide timely legal guidance and practical risk summaries.
- Assist in legal compliance support including policy adherence, audits, regulatory queries, and documentation readiness.
- Support dispute/risk matters including review of notices, basic responses, and coordination with external counsel when required.
- Maintain MIS reporting on deviations, renewals/expiries, and key legal metrics.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong hands-on experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation (especially MSAs/NDAs/vendor contracts).
- Good understanding of contract law and commercial contracting basics.
- Working knowledge of CLM tools and disciplined documentation practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, track deadlines, and close tasks with accuracy.
- Strong communication skills to explain legal risks in business-friendly language.
- High ownership, attention to detail, and stakeholder management capability.
Qualifications
- LL.B. from a recognized university.
- Prior experience in fintech/NBFC/BFSI/telecom/tech/startup environments is an advantage.
