Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India's first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Legal Professional for our Dholera plant, who will act as the single‑point legal authority for all site‑related matters. The role requires deep hands‑on exposure to construction‑intensive projects, end‑to‑end legal support at project sites, and close coordination with internal and external stakeholders during plant setup and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Project Legal Support
- Provide end‑to‑end legal support for all site and construction‑related activities.
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing construction contracts, EPC contracts, PO terms, work orders, amendments, and claims.
- Support project execution teams on legal implications during civil, mechanical, electrical, IT and infrastructure construction activities.
- Advise on contract risk mitigation, variation orders, delay claims, liquidated damages, and dispute avoidance.
Stakeholder & Contractor Management
- Work closely with:
- General Contractors
- Design Engineers & Consultants
- Multiple Service Contractors (civil, mechanical, utilities, IT, logistics)
- Support legal aspects of procurement of materials, equipment, machinery, labour, and related vendor agreements.
- Participate in key negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Handle pollution control and environmental compliance matters, including coordination with statutory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Local and central laws related to construction activities
- Labour laws, contract labour compliance, and site workforce regulations
- Environmental, safety, and industrial regulations applicable to large manufacturing plants
- Manage notices, audits, inspections, and approvals at site level.
Risk & Dispute Management
- Identify and mitigate legal risks during construction and commissioning phases.
- Handle site‑level disputes, claims, and coordination with external counsel where required.
- Provide proactive legal advice to minimize project delays and cost escalations.
Qualification
- LLB from a recognized university; additional certifications or LLM preferred.
- 15+ years of post‑qualification experience, with substantial exposure to:
- Construction and infrastructure projects
- Manufacturing plant or large industrial project environments
- Strong experience handling:
- Construction‑related contracts (civil, mechanical, EPC, services)
- Procurement contracts and vendor negotiations
- Environmental and pollution control matters
- Must have worked extensively at project sites, not only from corporate offices.
- Sound understanding of civil, mechanical, and IT aspects of construction projects.
- Ability to function independently as a dedicated on‑site legal leader.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
