Job Description

Legal Operations Manager

Remote, Eastern Europe or India

We are recruiting experienced Legal Operations Managers to run our remote operations function. These are hands-on management roles for organised, reliable and technically capable people.

Location and hours

Fully remote. We operate two shifts and you will be assigned to one:

  • Morning: 08:00 to 17:00 UK time
  • Afternoon: 13:00 to 22:00 UK time

Exact hours are confirmed on appointment. You must be available on all England and Wales working days, and the England and Wales public holiday calendar applies. Please check the local-time equivalent of your shift before applying.

About the role

We are an international professional services firm supporting investment funds. You will manage a remote team and keep our day-to-day operations and caseload running accurately and on time. This is not a passive role: you will work directly inside inboxes, trackers and live matters while managing people, priorities and quality.

You report directly to the company directors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise a remote team: allocate work, monitor performance and attendance, train new joiners, give feedback and address issues.
  • Oversee intake and workflow: ensure work is logged, allocated correctly and progressed promptly, and step in where senior judgement is needed.
  • Track deadlines and outstanding actions, chase work to completion, and flag delays early.
  • Maintain quality, consistency and standards across the team's output, including legal and contract work.
  • Maintain and improve procedures, trackers and workflows.

Confidentiality

You will handle confidential client information. You must comply with our confidentiality and information security requirements, handle data only through approved systems, and pass background screening as a condition of engagement.

Requirements

  • Excellent written English.
  • Experience managing or supervising remote administrative, operations or support teams in a detail-heavy environment, ideally in legal, professional or financial services.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and Outlook, and confidence with case, CRM or task systems.
  • Strong organisation and sound judgement on priority and allocation under pressure.
  • Reliable high-speed internet, suitable equipment and a quiet workspace.
  • Availability for your assigned shift on all England and Wales working days, consistently present and responsive.
  • Your own registered business entity, or willingness to establish one.

Relevant legal, contract-review or legal-process-outsourcing experience is an advantage and may be assessed during selection.

Selection

Shortlisted candidates will be assessed on written English, operational judgement and systems competence, with further role-specific assessment where relevant.
