Reports to: Director, Legal Affairs

Experience Required:Minimum 5 to 8 years in Legal Operations, Legal Administration, Project Management, or related domains

Role Overview

The Legal Operations Associate is a key member of the Legal team, responsible for driving operational excellence, improving process efficiency, and enabling technologydriven transformation across the Legal function. This role will play a pivotal part in the implementation, optimization, and governance of the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system, drive adoption of AI and as well as supporting broader operational initiatives such as privacy tooling, compliance platforms, consent management integrations, and crossdepartmental workflow improvements.

The role requires a strong blend of technical aptitude, project management expertise, process discipline, and stakeholder coordination, with the goal of making Legal a proactive, data-driven, and scalable strategic partner to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Operations & Process Optimization
  • Design, document, implement, and continuously improve legal workflows, policies, and procedures.
  • Standardize contracting processes across the functionincluding intake, approvals, escalations, and document governance.
  • Identify automation opportunities and lead initiatives that reduce manual effort and cycle times.
  • Maintain and govern all legal content across internal systems, ensuring templates, clause libraries, and guidance remain current, accurate, and properly classified.
  • Oversee version control and ensure global alignment of templates across business units and legal entities.
  • Serve as the central operational point of contact for Legal and cross-functional teams, ensuring smooth collaboration and efficient issue resolution.
  • Maintain internal portals and knowledge repositories, ensuring consistent structure, updated content, and intuitive workflows.
  • Technology Implementation & Management
  • Lead end-to-end implementation, administration, and optimization of CLM, including configuration, integrations, user training, and golive readiness.
  • Lead and Manage end-to-end implementation, administration, and optimization of other legal tech tools including:
    • Workflow automation platforms
    • Privacy management tools
    • Compliance systems
    • India's consent management platform
  • Coordinate with IT, Engineering, Security, SalesOps, and Procurement to ensure successful integrations (CRM, Salesforce, ERP, procurement systems, Coupa, Concur, Docusign etc.) and long-term maintainability.
  • Act as system owner for CLM and other legal tech, ensuring high adoption, strong governance, and continuous improvement based on usage patterns.
  • Compliance & Risk Management Support
  • Support compliance operations by ensuring legal systems and processes meet required regulatory, privacy, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain data accuracy and auditability across legal tech systems.
  • Partner with Privacy, GRC, and Security to operationalize privacy-by-design and regulatory requirements within workflows.
  • Ensure consent management and compliance tooling integrations meet India-specific and global regulatory expectations.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment with HR, Finance, Sales, and Engineering for policy enforcement and process enhancements.
  • Data Analytics, Reporting & Metrics
  • Track, analyze, and report on key operational metrics including contract cycle times, resource allocation, volume trends, and risk indicators.
  • Build dashboards and executive-level reports to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify patterns, bottlenecks, and process gaps using data analytics and stakeholder feedback.
  • Establish a regular reporting cadence to Legal leadership and other business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Background

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Technical proficiency is highly desirable to reduce dependency on IT and support system ownership.

Experience


  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in:
    • Legal Operations
    • Legal administration or paralegal functions
    • Project management
    • Process or workflow automation
    • Technology-enabled business operations

Technical & Professional Skills


  • Hands-on experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms.
  • Strong understanding of workflow automation, compliance tools, and legal technology ecosystems.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, dashboards, metrics formulation, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of contract processesbuy-side, sell-side, NDAs, renewals, approvals, and risk frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent documentation standards and process-mapping capabilities.
