Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to head the legal function and serve as a strategic advisor to the senior leadership. This role requires deep legal expertise, a business-first mindset, and strong command over legal matters across trademarks, litigation, contracts (domestic and international), and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will currently be heading the legal function in a large pharmaceutical organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the legal department, overseeing all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions.
- Manage and strategize litigation and dispute resolution across civil, commercial, and regulatory domains.
- Handle the full lifecycle of trademark management, including filings, oppositions, and enforcement.
- Draft, negotiate, and review complex commercial contracts, including licensing, supply, distribution, and global business agreements.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with domestic and international pharma laws and guidelines.
- Advise senior management and board members on legal risk, governance, and business transactions.
- Oversee external counsels and strengthen in-house legal capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- Qualification: LL.B. (mandatory); LL.M.
- Experience: 1520+ years in legal roles, with at least 5 years as the head of legal
- Industry Background: Must be from a pharmaceutical company with INR 10,000 Cr+ turnover
- Strong expertise in litigation, contract law and trademarks.
- Exposure to international legal and regulatory frameworks is essential
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
