Description
The Legal Head will oversee the legal function of the banking/NBFC operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations while protecting the company's interests.
Responsibilities
- Lead legal strategy and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for banking and NBFC operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents including contracts, agreements, and policies.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management on corporate governance and risk management.
- Manage disputes and litigation involving the organization, including representing the company in legal proceedings.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and manage relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the banking and NBFC sectors and advise on necessary actions.
Skills and Qualifications
- LLB degree from a recognized university; additional qualifications like LLM or a diploma in banking law are preferable.
- 2-7 years of experience in legal roles within banking or non-banking financial companies (NBFCs).
- Strong understanding of banking laws, regulations, and compliance requirements in India.
- Excellent negotiation and drafting skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical legal solutions.
