As a Data Analytics & Visualization Associate in our Legal Finance team, you will spend each day designing, developing, and maintaining data analytics solutions and reports to support the Legal CFO and Business Management team. You will analyze data, build new reporting capabilities using technologies such as Databricks, SQL, Python, and Alteryx, and continuously improve existing processes. Your responsibilities will include creating and optimizing Tableau dashboards, managing data workflows, and translating business requirements into effective visual and analytical solutions. You will collaborate with Legal P&A and Business Management teams, handle multiple projects, manage user permissions, and maintain up-to-date documentation, all while supporting special projects as needed.

Job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data analytics solutions and reports to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Legal Planning & Analysis (P&A) and Business Management teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into impactful analytical solutions.
  • Analyze financial and operational data, leveraging modern technologies such as Databricks, SQL, Python, and Alteryx.
  • Develop and optimize data workflows, including writing SQL queries and managing data from various sources (e.g., headcount, expenses).
  • Build and enhance Tableau dashboards, ensuring effective visualization and actionable insights.
  • Obtain feedback on dashboard iterations and incorporate feedback through continuous enhancements.
  • Apply best practices in data visualization and advanced analytics, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and user-friendly dashboards.
  • Manage user permissions and maintain up-to-date documentation for all reporting solutions.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously, assisting with special initiatives and cross-team collaboration as needed.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Alteryx, Python, SQL
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Working knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and profit & loss (P&L) concepts
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, team player, inquisitive, enthusiastic, and diligent

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of work experience in data engineering, BI development, data analytics, automation (preferably in Technology, Analytics, Accounting or Finance)
  • Familiarity with Databricks, ThoughtSpot, or Anaplan is a plus
  • Demonstrates a can-do attitude and leads by example Prioritizes helpfulness and team development.
  • Detail-oriented, able to distinguish between important and urgent tasks.
