Position Summary

The Justice Sector Assistance Project (JSAP) supports the Palestinian public prosecution to improve how cases are documented, processed, and resolved, and to reduce backlogged cases. Much of this work happens at the governorate Public Prosecution Offices (PPOs). The Field Officer is JSAP's front-line staff member in these offices: providing daily administrative, technical, and logistical support, collecting case data and monthly statistics, and helping office staff apply the improved procedures introduced by the program — all under the supervision of the Field Coordinator of the assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily administrative, technical, and logistical support to prosecutors and staff at the assigned Public Prosecution Offices for the implementation of program activities.
  • Help office staff apply the procedures, forms, and standards introduced by the program in their daily work, and report feedback and problems to the Field Coordinator.
  • Organize the logistics of program activities in the assigned offices — trainings, orientation sessions, and meetings — including scheduling, invitations, venues, materials, and attendance records.
  • Track cases in the assigned offices: keep the case tracking records up to date, follow the progress of priority cases and the disposal of backlogged cases, and flag delays to the Field Coordinator.
  • Collect case data and prepare the monthly statistics for the assigned offices, check them against office records, and submit them to the Field Coordinator.
  • Support the administrative staff of the assigned offices in managing electronic evidence — registering, cataloguing, storing, and retrieving electronic evidence and casefile materials according to the program's procedures.
  • Report office-level feedback on case registration and the MIZAN case management system to the Field Coordinator.
  • Keep organized records of all data, feedback, and activity documentation from the assigned offices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Field Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law
  • At least two (2) years of experience in court or prosecution office support, data collection, or program support.
  • Fluency in Arabic and basic working English are required.
  • Familiarity with the public prosecution or courts, or with the MIZAN case management system, is an advantage.
  • Reliability — Consistent, service-oriented daily support that office staff can depend on.
  • Accuracy — Careful data collection, correct statistics, and orderly records.
  • Organization — Able to arrange trainings and meetings end-to-end and meet fixed deadlines.
  • Computer Skills — Comfortable with case management systems, electronic records, and Excel.
  • Relationship-Building — Able to earn the trust of prosecutors and office staff.
  • Discretion — Reliable handling of sensitive case-related information.

Work Environment

  • This position has no work or environmental factors outside of a standard office.
  • Prolonged period of sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer.
  • This position is full-time and generally follows a standard business schedule; however, extended hours may be necessary based on project needs and deadlines.
  • Duty station is Ramallah, West Bank.
