Legal Counsel

The purpose of this role is to provide legal, commercial and administrative support to the legal team in relation to routine contract and procurement requirements, procedures, training and advice.

Key responsibilities:

• Drafts, reviews, negotiates and advises on routine commercial agreements across a variety of areas but generally focused on media and advertising services, IP and data
• Advises in connection with contract interpretation, external audits, dispute resolution and overall negotiation strategy
• Provides legal support and guidance in relation to development and deployment of new commercial initiatives
• Provides support to commercial and finance teams in contractual negotiations with clients and suppliers. This includes being able to efficiently provide a risk assessment of proposed client contracts, clearly distinguishing between critical and less critical risks
• Develops and delivers training and legal risk management initiatives to assist senior management in managing legal risk (e.g. business training, legal updates, etc.) and managing contract compliance
• Assists with implementation of best-practice in compliance and contracts management
