Job Description
We are partnering with a regional digital infrastructure and data centre platform in a search for a Legal Counsel to join the legal team on a seven-month contract, providing broad-based support across financing, governance, compliance and day-to-day commercial and project matters. Based in Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Operate as the team's primary point of legal contact, providing broad-based support across financing, governance, compliance and commercial matters.
- Support financing-related work by reviewing and negotiating financing, facility and security documentation tied to the group's funding activities.
- Advise on corporate governance matters and monitor regulatory compliance obligations across the jurisdictions in which the group operates.
- Manage corporate secretarial matters for group entities, including statutory registers, incorporations and related corporate housekeeping requirements.
- Provide legal support across active infrastructure and project workstreams, partnering with project, engineering and operations teams on contractual and risk matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate day-to-day commercial documentation, including service agreements, non-disclosure agreements and vendor contracts.
- Identify legal and commercial risk in proposed transactions and recommend practical, business-appropriate solutions.
- Support regulatory filings, licensing matters and other statutory submissions as they arise.
- Liaise with and manage external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions where specialist advice is required.
- Advise internal stakeholders across finance, operations and project teams on day-to-day legal queries.
- Maintain and update legal templates, playbooks and standard documentation used across the business.
- Undertake legal and regulatory research to support new and ongoing matters as they develop.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent called to the Bar in Singapore or another common law jurisdiction preferred.
- Approximately 7 to 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), combining corporate law training in private practice with in-house legal experience.
- Proven in-house legal experience, with the ability to operate independently and take ownership of matters from day one.
- Working knowledge of financing and facility documentation, corporate governance and corporate secretarial practice.
- Comfortable drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including service agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
- Exposure to infrastructure, project or data centre-related legal work is an advantage.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise legal and non-legal teams clearly and pragmatically.
- Able to manage a broad and varied caseload with minimal supervision in a fast-moving, multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Available to commence the engagement in early November 2026, through to end June 2027.
