Legal Counsel

Location : Gurgaon

The Legal Counsel will act as a trusted legal partner to the business, providing practical and commercially focused advice across contracts, compliance, regulatory matters and risk management. The role will work closely with cross-functional and leadership teams to enable business objectives while safeguarding the organization's legal and commercial interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted legal partner to business and functional teams, providing practical and commercially focused legal advice.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including vendor, distributor, service, technology, marketing and NDA agreements.
• Advise on corporate & commercial laws, consumer protection, competition law, data privacy, employment matters and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and proactively mitigate legal, contractual and compliance risks while enabling business objectives.
• Manage litigation, consumer disputes, regulatory matters and external legal counsel, as required.
• Support corporate governance, statutory documentation and internal compliance processes.
• Develop and maintain standard contracts, templates, policies and legal SOPs to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Partner effectively with business, HR, Finance and regional/global Legal & Compliance teams.

Required Qualifications / Eligibility

• LL.B. from a recognized university and enrolled with the Bar Council in India.
• Relevant post-qualification experience in an in-house legal function and/or reputed law firm.
• Experience in consumer electronics, telecom, FMCG, technology, retail or e-commerce preferred.
• Strong expertise in commercial contracting, negotiation and legal risk management.
• Good understanding of Indian corporate/commercial laws, consumer laws, competition law, data privacy and employment law.
• Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional and matrix environment.
• High standards of integrity, confidentiality and professional judgment.

• Risk & Compliance: Proactive mitigation of legal/regulatory risks and strong compliance adherence.

• Dispute Management: Effective and timely management of litigation, claims and regulatory matters.
• Process Improvement: Stronger legal templates, SOPs, contracting processes and governance controls.
