About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious Legal Counsel – Client Acquisition to join our commercial team. Unlike a traditional legal role, this position combines legal knowledge with commercial thinking. You will be the first legal representative that prospective clients interact with, helping them understand their legal options, evaluate recovery strategies, and determine how PayAssured can assist them.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys speaking with business leaders, understands that law is ultimately a business enabler, and wants to build a career at the intersection of law, strategy, and business development.

If you enjoy meeting founders, CFOs, finance heads, and decision-makers more than drafting documents all day, you'll thrive in this role.

Your Responsibilities

• Engage with businesses that have outstanding commercial receivables.
• Understand each client's recovery challenges and commercial objectives.
• Explain PayAssured's legal and recovery framework with clarity and confidence.
• Conduct discovery meetings with founders, finance teams, and corporate decision-makers.
• Work alongside our legal and operations teams to design appropriate recovery strategies.
• Guide clients through the onboarding process.
• Contribute towards the firm's client acquisition and revenue growth objectives.

What We're Looking For

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB).
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Professional appearance with strong interpersonal skills.
• Curious, confident, and eager to learn.
• Comfortable speaking with senior business leaders.
• Ability to commute to our office in RT Nagar, Bengaluru.

Preferred

• Fluency in Hindi and Kannada.
• Previous experience in business development, client-facing legal roles, consulting, or sales.
• Prior exposure to debt recovery, commercial litigation, banking, NBFCs, financial services, or legal services.
• Strong negotiation or relationship-building skills.
