Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Legal Compliance Officer role based in Coimbatore. The Legal Compliance Officer will monitor and interpret applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements impacting TAU-C and its institutions, and ensure timely implementation of compliance measures. The role includes reviewing, drafting, and maintaining legal documents, policies, and agreements, and supporting contract management and documentation control. The individual will conduct compliance risk assessments, support internal audits, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to address legal and regulatory issues. Daily responsibilities also include advising departments on compliance-related queries, maintaining compliance records and reports, liaising with external legal counsel or regulators as needed, and supporting training and awareness programs for staff and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and manage contracts, NDAs, MOUs, vendor agreements, and service contracts.

• Ensure compliance with labour, environmental, corporate, and sector-specific regulations.

• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and assess their impact on business operations.

• Coordinate statutory filings, license renewals, regulatory inspections, and audits.

• Implement and oversee anti-bribery, anti-corruption, AML, and ethics compliance programs.

• Manage data privacy and protection compliance requirements across jurisdictions.

• Support employment law matters, disciplinary actions, grievance handling, and HR compliance.

• Conduct legal research and collaborate with external legal counsel on cross-border matters.

• Develop and deliver compliance training programs and maintain compliance monitoring frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or an equivalent legal qualification.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in legal, compliance, regulatory, or corporate governance functions.

• Strong expertise in contract management and regulatory compliance.

• Sound knowledge of labour laws, data privacy regulations, and corporate governance practices.

• Excellent legal research, risk assessment, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

• Prior experience working in multinational or multi-jurisdictional environments is highly preferred.
