Role & Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Risk Management
Act as a trusted legal advisor to leadership on matters relating to business operations,
regulatory frameworks, compliance obligations, and commercial risk.
Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks across group entities.
Corporate, Commercial & Employment Law
Lead legal activities across group companies including corporate law, commercial
contracts, employment law, data privacy, and intellectual property.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements including customer and vendor
contracts, NDAs, service agreements, and shareholder/investor documentation.
Compliance & Governance
Oversee company-wide compliance with applicable Indian laws and sector-specific
regulations including the Companies Act, FEMA, SEBI, RBI, labour laws, and IT/Data
Protection laws.
Ensure timely statutory filings, board resolutions, regulatory submissions, and
maintenance of statutory registers across entities.
Develop, implement, and maintain group-wide legal policies, SOPs, and internal control
frameworks.
Stakeholder & External Counsel Management
Partner with external legal counsel for litigation, disputes, regulatory inquiries, and
specialised advisory matters.
Work closely with internal stakeholders across Finance, HR, Product, and Operations to
embed compliance into business processes.
Strategic Transactions & Special Projects
Support M&A, fundraising, due diligence exercises, ESOP structuring, and other
strategic initiatives.
Contribute to legal research, advisory support, and compliance-related analysis as
required
Eligibility & Experience (Flexible)
Post Qualification Experience (PQE)
Preferred: 6 years of post-qualification experience.
Flexibility: PQE is flexible for candidates demonstrating strong commercial acumen,
legal judgment, and ability to scale and deliver.
High-potential lawyers with deep exposure to commercial and company law will be
considered, even with lower PQE.
Qualifications
LLB is mandatory.
Company Secretary (CS) qualification is desirable and an added advantage, but not
mandatory.
Candidate Profile
A high-potential professional with the ability to grow with the organization and take
increasing ownership.
Strong analytical, drafting, research, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving, and sometimes ambiguous startup
environment.
Skill Focus
Strong knowledge of commercial law, corporate law, and compliance frameworks is
prioritized over formal certifications.
Practical, hands-on experience and a business-oriented mindset are critical.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in high-growth tech companies, digital businesses, or venture-funded
startups.
Exposure to ESOP design, investor relations, and fundraising transactions.
Familiarity with cross-border contracting, export compliance, and global data privacy regulations
(e.g., GDPR
Experience handling tech-specific legal matters such as SaaS contracts, platform
terms, IP protection, and data privacy frameworks.
