Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Legal Associate at Team Counsel. The Associate will be responsible for supporting founders, startups, and investors on early-stage funding transactions and general corporate advisory matters. The role will involve drafting and reviewing transaction documents, assisting in structuring investment rounds, conducting legal research, and providing practical legal advice to clients within the startup ecosystem. The Associate will work closely with the leadership team and clients across India on a range of transactional and advisory mandates.

Qualifications & Skills

• 1-3 years of experience in corporate law firm
• Prior experience working on early-stage funding transactions, including seed or pre-seed rounds.
• Experience drafting and reviewing transaction documents such as Share Subscription Agreements (SSA), Shareholders Agreements (SHA), SAFEs, convertible instruments, and related agreements.
• Strong background in general corporate law and commercial contracts.
• Excellent drafting, research, and analytical abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple transactions and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while managing timelines and client expectations.
• Professionalism, commitment, and a problem-solving mindset.
• Prior exposure to the startup ecosystem or venture capital transactions will be an added advantage.

Please Note:

• This is a full-time role.
• The role is remote as of now, with potential in-person collaboration requirements in the future as needed.
• Preference may be given to candidates based in Bangalore.
