Job Description

Title: Junior Associate

Location: Chennai

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Associate to join our Contracts & Legal team. This role is specifically designed to strengthen our contract lifecycle management and ensure rigorous compliance tracking across our portfolio of renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will possess foundational knowledge of the energy sector and a disciplined approach to managing key contractual milestones and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Lifecycle & Documentation

  • Support the drafting, review, and vetting of various agreements, including EPC, supply, O&M, and subcontractor contracts.
  • Assist in the end-to-end management of the contract lifecycle, from initial drafting through to execution and archival.
  • Maintain and organize a comprehensive contract repository, ensuring all executed documents and amendments are accurately filed.

2. Compliance & Milestone Tracking

  • Develop and manage a Key Date Compliance Tracker to monitor critical contractual deadlines, including renewals, expirations, and performance milestones.
  • Ensure all internal and external stakeholders are notified in advance of upcoming contractual obligations and compliance filings.
  • Track updates in MNRE guidelines, PPA and EPC requirements, and other relevant sector regulations to ensure ongoing project compliance.

3. Legal Support & MIS

  • Maintain an updated Management Information System (MIS) and trackers for all ongoing legal notices, claims, and dispute resolution matters.
  • Liaise with internal project and finance teams to gather data required for risk assessments and contractual reviews.
  • Assist senior legal professionals in preparing settlement documentation and coordinating with external counsels.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: LLB degree is mandatory.
  • Experience:23 years of relevant experience in legal and contract management.
  • Domain Knowledge: Prior exposure to the Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, or EPC sectors is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in legal drafting and a high level of comfort working with trackers and Excel-based MIS tools.
