About the Role
We are seeking a Legal Associate (Freelancer) with exposure to Indian and/or US legal systems to support advanced AI evaluation and legal intelligence projects.
In this role, you will review, analyze, and evaluate AI-generated legal content across areas such as legal research, contract analysis, compliance, regulatory interpretation, legal reasoning, and policy review. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for legal research, legal operations, compliance automation, and document intelligence.
This is an excellent opportunity for lawyers, legal associates, legal researchers, and early-career legal professionals who have worked with Indian law firms, US law firms, legal process outsourcing (LPO) firms, in-house legal teams, or compliance functions.
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate AI-generated legal research, legal memos, and legal analyses
- Assess AI outputs for legal accuracy, logical reasoning, completeness, and consistency
- Analyze contracts, agreements, compliance documents, and regulatory materials
- Identify legal risks, interpretation issues, factual inaccuracies, and reasoning gaps in AI-generated outputs
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in legal workflows
- Support projects involving legal research, compliance review, policy analysis, contract interpretation, and regulatory intelligence
- Review peer submissions and contribute to quality assurance processes
- Create sample legal deliverables and responses based on real-world legal scenarios
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) or equivalent legal qualification
- 2 – 7 years of experience with a law firm, legal services provider, LPO, compliance team, or in-house legal department
- Exposure to Indian legal frameworks and/or US legal systems
- Understanding of legal research methodologies, case law analysis, and statutory interpretation
- Familiarity with contract review, legal drafting, compliance procedures, and regulatory research
- Strong written English communication skills
- Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to independently review and evaluate complex legal content
- Prior experience with legal technology, legal research platforms, or AI-assisted legal workflows is a plus
