Role Overview
We're hiring a Legal Associate, Corporate & Commercial to support Dodo's legal function as we scale across products, teams, and jurisdictions. You will work closely with the Compliance & Legal Head, founders, and cross-functional teams on commercial contracts, corporate documentation, legal research, diligence readiness, and legal process building.
This role is best suited for someone who combines strong drafting and research skills with a practical, execution-oriented approach. You should be comfortable working across a mix of structured legal work and fast-moving operational asks in a startup environment.
This is an on-site role in Bengaluru and reports to the Compliance & Legal Head.
What You'll Own
- Support across commercial contracts, corporate documentation, legal research, and legal operations
- Drafting, review, tracking, and coordination of contracts and legal documentation
- Support on corporate records, diligence readiness, and external counsel coordination
- Legal and regulatory research across jurisdictions relevant to the business
- Legal documentation systems, trackers, templates, and scalable internal processes
What You'll DoCommercial Contracts
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including customer, vendor, NDA, service, and partnership documentation
- Support internal stakeholders on contract queries, risk points, and escalation of key legal issues
- Maintain templates, clause banks, contract trackers, and documentation workflows
Corporate and Entity Support
- Support company law, governance, and corporate documentation matters, including resolutions, approvals, filings coordination, and record-keeping
- Assist with entity-related workstreams and coordination with external counsel across jurisdictions
- Help maintain clean and organized corporate records and legal repositories
Legal Research and Advisory Support
- Conduct legal and regulatory research across key jurisdictions and summarize findings into practical internal guidance
- Support the Compliance & Legal Head on issue-spotting, risk assessment, and internal advisory work
- Partner with product, operations, finance, compliance, and business teams on legal documentation and implementation questions
Fundraising, Diligence, and Legal Operations
- Support fundraising, diligence, and legal data room preparation
- Assist in collating, organizing, and reviewing legal documents required for investor, banking, and partner diligence processes
- Help build scalable legal processes that support the company's international growth
- Support development and maintenance of internal legal and compliance policies, trackers, and process documents
What You Bring
- 14 years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal team
- Experience with commercial contracts, general corporate work, legal research, or diligence support
- Strong drafting, review, and document management skills
- Ability to analyze legal issues clearly and translate them into practical business guidance
- Strong prioritization skills and sound judgment on when to escalate
- Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment with evolving legal questions
- Clear communication, strong execution discipline, and attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Exposure to startups, fintech, SaaS, or cross-border business models
- Experience with fundraising diligence, entity structuring support, or external counsel coordination
- Familiarity with data privacy, tax, payments, or regulatory research
- Experience using legal operations or workflow tools to manage documentation and processes
- Exposure to investment transactions, diligence, or transaction support work
