A legal Assistant position in India is designed for law graduates (LLB/BA LLB/B.Com LLB/BBA LLB) looking for hands-on experience in a corporate or law firm environment. This role typically involves conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, assisting in compliance, and supporting senior lawyers with case management.
Key Responsibilities
* Legal Research & Analysis: Conducting in-depth research on corporate, commercial, and intellectual property laws.
* Drafting & Vetting: Assisting in drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, NDAs, and MoUs.
* Litigation Support: Assisting in preparing case files, researching case laws, and drafting pleadings (petitions, replies, affidavits).
* Compliance & Due Diligence: Assisting with regulatory compliance, maintaining compliance checklists, and conducting preliminary due diligence.
* Administrative Support: Managing legal files, updating case records, and organizing documentation.
* Liaison: Coordinating with external counsels, internal teams, and occasionally government authorities.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB, B.Com LLB, BA LLB, BBA LLB) from a recognized university.
* Experience: 1-2 year of experience.
* Skills: Strong legal research skills (using tools like SCC Online, Manupatra), excellent written and verbal communication, and attention to detail.
* Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
