Role:
The Lead – Learning & Development will play a pivotal role in shaping frontline excellence by building high-impact capability across store teams. This role is central to driving superior customer experience, strengthening sales performance, and enabling a high-performance retail culture at scale.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Architect and drive the retail learning strategy aligned to business priorities and growth objectives
- Diagnose capability gaps across stores, regions, and roles, and translate insights into targeted learning interventions
- Design and institutionalize structured learning journeys spanning onboarding, selling excellence, product mastery, and visual merchandising fundamentals
- Curate high-quality, scalable, and easy-to-consume learning content tailored for diverse and multi-lingual store teams
- Orchestrate seamless training execution across locations in collaboration with trainers, cluster managers, and business stakeholders
- Ensure consistency, quality, and standardization of training delivery across the retail network
- Personally lead high-impact interventions for Store Managers and high-potential talent
- Build a robust leadership pipeline by enabling capability development and career progression for store leadership roles
- Establish strong measurement frameworks to evaluate learning effectiveness through key retail metrics such as conversion, ATV, and sales productivity
- Continuously refine learning solutions through data-driven insights and on-ground feedback
Key Requirements
- Strong commercial understanding of retail operations and store dynamics
- Proven expertise in frontline capability building and large-scale training deployment
- Ability to translate business needs into practical, high-impact learning solutions
- Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence across levels
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills with a sharp focus on engagement
- Data-oriented mindset with a clear focus on measurable business outcomes
- Multi-lingual proficiency and experience with digital learning ecosystems/LMS will be an advantage
Education & professional skillset:
- MBA / PGDM in HR or related discipline
- Certifications in Learning & Development or Retail Training (preferred)
Desired experience:
- 8–12 years of L&D experience in retail/FMCG with strong exposure to frontline training and store operations.
Success Metrics:
- Tangible improvement in store performance metrics (conversion, ATV, productivity)
- Depth and readiness of internal store leadership pipeline
- Consistency and scalability of training across the network
- Strong adoption and impact of learning interventions on-ground
