Water & Wastewater Strategy and Governance

• Develop and implement the corporate Water & Wastewater Management Strategy aligned with business objectives, customer expectations, Tata Group sustainability commitments, and statutory requirements.
• Establish corporate policies, standards, frameworks, and performance metrics for water stewardship, wastewater management, resource conservation, and circular water use.
• Drive the integration of water sustainability principles into operational and strategic decision-making across all sites.

Technical Leadership and Project Support:

• Provide technical leadership and expert guidance to site teams in the design, planning, commissioning, and optimization of Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Rain Water Treatment Plants (RWTP), STP RO, WTP RO, and Mechanical Vapor Recompression Evaporator (MVRE) systems.
• Support site teams in achieving operational excellence through process optimization, troubleshooting, performance improvement, and reliability enhancement of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and best practices to improve water efficiency, water reuse, wastewater treatment effectiveness, and resource recovery.

Water Stewardship and Circularity

• Drive the organization's water circularity agenda by promoting water conservation, reuse, recycling, and wastewater recovery initiatives.
• Develop a common framework, governance structure, and performance indicators for water and wastewater stewardship across all manufacturing locations.
• Lead initiatives to maximize treated wastewater reuse and reduce freshwater dependency.

Water Data Management and Performance Monitoring

• Establish and maintain corporate systems for monitoring and reporting water consumption, wastewater generation, wastewater reuse, recycling rates, and treatment performance.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, and benchmarking systems to track site performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Consolidate and present periodic water performance reports to senior leadership.

Water Replenishment and Sustainability Programs

• Lead the development and execution of water replenishment programs to support Tata Group sustainability commitments.
• Identify and drive watershed management, rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and community water stewardship initiatives.
• Monitor progress against corporate water targets and recommend corrective actions where required.

Compliance, Risk Management and Audits

• Review and audit water and wastewater management practices to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, consent conditions, permits, and CPCB/SPCB requirements.
• Support sites in obtaining and maintaining statutory approvals related to water abstraction, wastewater discharge, and treatment systems.
• Identify water-related environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure sustainable operations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders during regulatory inspections, customer audits, and certification assessments.

Continual Improvement and Capability Building

• Drive programs focused on reducing water consumption, improving water-use efficiency, minimizing wastewater generation, and enhancing wastewater reuse.
• Promote continual improvement through benchmarking, best-practice deployment, and performance reviews across all sites.
• Build organizational capability by conducting awareness programs, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives for employees and site teams.
• Provide strategic recommendations to leadership on emerging trends, technologies, regulations, and opportunities in water and wastewater management.

Qualification: B.Tech / BE / MTech in Environmental Engineering

Experience : 10 years to 20 years
