Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Lead UI & UX Designer to drive the design of intelligent, human-centered enterprise experiences. In this role, you will partner closely with global UX, product, engineering, and AI teams to co-create solutions that improve how users interact with AI-driven workflows and proactive systems. You'll play a critical role in ensuring consistent, accessible, and delightful experiences across UKG's suite of platforms.

This position balances strong hands-on design execution with strategic influence, enabling you to shape product direction and champion design best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Influence & UX Strategy
  • Contribute to the product vision and roadmap by identifying key user problems and framing impactful design opportunities.
  • Influence feature prioritization by advocating for user needs, especially around agent-based and AI-enhanced interfaces.
  • Intelligent Experiences & System Thinking
  • Design proactive, predictive, and conversational UX patterns in collaboration with AI/ML teams.
  • Leverage design systems and scalable frameworks to ensure consistent and high-quality experiences across platforms.
  • Execution Excellence
  • Lead design for complex product areas from discovery through delivery.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes that effectively communicate intent.
  • Partner with accessibility teams to ensure WCAG compliance across all solutions.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Work closely with cross-functional peers in Product and Engineering to align on design decisions and deliverables.
  • Mentor Senior and mid-level designers, providing constructive feedback and design critique.
  • Design Ops Contribution
  • Help improve processes, documentation, and team rituals that contribute to operational design excellence.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of UX/product design experience, with at least 2+ years at a senior or principal level in enterprise environments.
  • Strong track record of delivering complex, scalable design solutions across web and mobile platforms.
  • Experience designing AI-powered or agent-led user experiences is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Figma, design systems, and prototyping tools.
  • Excellent storytelling, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in HCI, Design, Psychology, Computer Science, or related field.
