Lead Technician - Information Modelling

• We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic BIM Lead to join the Global Capability Center UK Mining BIM team in Bengaluru to work alongside our UK and International mining projects.
• The successful candidate will be working in a team environment to develop and deliver projects through various stages of design from feasibility to planning/detailed design and construction.

Responsibilities

• The role has a key responsibility for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of staff. The BIM lead is expected to demonstrate effective & visible leadership across projects and building high performing teams.
• Business, operational & commercial management – delivering on business plan & budgetary targets.
• Supervising ensuring the competence, quality and timely submission of detailed deliverables and coordinate inputs from other areas across the business both in India and the UK
• Supporting UK with bidding opportunities
• Attending discipline wise prospect calls with the UK regions
• Key point of contact with the UK business, direct liaison with UK team, and promoting the GCC and ensuring its success.
• Divisional Resource Management – GCC utilization
• Developing interaction within the wider GCC CAD & BIM team
• Deliver capabilities presentation to the UK & the wider GCC
• Innovative process of BIM workflow.
• Coordinate with Information Managers/ Design Engineers/ Design Managers / Project Managers for the information required to prepare BIM models and generate drawings as per specifications defined by our client.
• Implementing the new technologies for improving business efficiency
• Involving audit process
• Providing lesson learnt session to the team
• Staff/Team Development – support, training, nurturing
• Perform cap skills validation of CAD & BIM team members
• Setting clear goals to the BIM / CAD team for both performance and development align with business requirements
• Retention and succession plan for the team

Key Competencies / Skills

• Experience of working on several sized projects at all stages of the project life cycle. Delivery of quality systems which ensure the quality and accuracy of deliverables such as models, reports and drawings
• Excellent communication, internal client handling, interpersonal skills and listening skills with the ability to influence and interact with people
• Comfortable leading internal team discussions and the experience and ability to understand, evaluate and explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical professionals
• Project set-up using AutoDesk ACC/Forma and Bentley ProjectWise workflow.
• Production of high-quality 3D BIM Models and provide training to the BIM team in Revit, AutoCAD, ACC, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Open Building Designer, ProjectWise, Standardization.
• Must have good 3D visualization, coordination and BIM review capabilities.
• Good working knowledge of Revit Structural and Civil with ability to use all standard functions within Revit, Parametric Families creation and ability to coach junior staff in its use
• Knowledge on industry standards for Civil and Structural services
• Accountable and see the big picture of the project to achieve the best result for the client
• Strong attention to details and ability to make correct judgements.

Qualifications

• At least one key area such as Diploma/Engineering in Civil Engineering.
• 15+ year's production experience in design, drafting and engineering with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record
• Professional qualifications: EngTech / Ieng / CEng.
• Good working knowledge of the relevant Civil / Structural Engineering discipline.
