Your Team's Impact
We are seeking an experienced
Lead Technical Writer with a strong background in
data platforms, product documentation, and PRDs, along with a working knowledge of
AI/ML concepts. This role will lead documentation efforts across data-driven products and platforms, ensuring clarity, usability, and alignment with business and engineering goals.
You will collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, and Data teams to create high-quality documentation that simplifies complex systems and enhances user and developer experience.
What You'll Do
Documentation Leadership
- Define and execute a documentation strategy across data platforms and products
- Establish standards, templates, and best practices for documentation
- Mentor and guide junior technical writers
Data & Platform Documentation
- Create and maintain documentation for:
- Data platforms and Data Navigator / Data Discovery systems
- Data pipelines, ETL processes, and analytics workflows
- System architecture and integrations
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content
Product Requirements Documentation (PRD)
- Collaborate with Product Managers to create and refine PRDs
- Convert business requirements into structured functional documentation
- Ensure alignment between PRDs, engineering output, and user documentation
- Maintain consistency and traceability across product artifacts
Developer & User Documentation
- Own API documentation, integration guides, and onboarding materials
- Develop tutorials, FAQs, and knowledge base content
- Improve developer and user experience through structured documentation
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, QA, and UX teams
- Participate in agile development processes and release cycles
- Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and release-ready
Tools & Process Improvement
- Use tools such as Markdown, Git, Confluence, or similar
- Introduce automation and efficiency improvements in documentation workflows
- Leverage AI tools where helpful for content generation and optimization
What We're Looking For
- 3-4years of experience in technical writing, including leadership experience
- Strong experience documenting data platforms, APIs, or enterprise software
- Hands-on experience creating and managing PRDs
- Solid understanding of:
- Data workflows, ETL processes, and analytics systems
- APIs, microservices, and cloud environments
- Basic to intermediate understanding of AI/ML concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data cataloguing or data discovery tools
- Familiarity with Open API/Swagger, Postman, or similar tools
- Exposure to AI/ML or data science environments
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar technologies
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
