Responsibilities:

Platform Reliability Engineering (PRE) combines systems engineering and operational expertise to ensure the reliability, uptime, and performance of large-scale global platform services. As part of the PRE team, you will play a critical role in ensuring platform stability, managing escalations, resolving technical incidents, and driving continuous improvement. At Socit Gnrale, as a PRE engineer, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the firm's transformation journey to the Cloud. You will have the opportunity to manage complex challenges at scale that are unique to our internal Cloud Infrastructure. You will use your skills in incident management, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), monitoring, and operational excellence to ensure seamless platform operations. You will also work closely with platform feature teams, production stakeholders, and development teams to define and implement operational best practices.

Profile Required:

As a PRE engineer you will be the part of energetic and dynamic global team who would be accountable and responsible to ensure the platform stability. Also, you would be accountable to look after any issues with respect to cloud infrastructure along with the CI/CD pipeline. You will make ensure to run the platform at scale which involves Escalation and technical incident management along with problem. You shall embrace the post-mortems by improving the quality through task automation, chaos engineering & improving the metrics of platform services (XaaS).

• 7+ years in cloud platform production support or infrastructure management.
• Proven ability to manage escalations, troubleshoot issues, and perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or private clouds), monitoring tools, and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Strong understanding of DR processes, patching, upgrades, and environment stability.
• Ability to work independently while thriving in a multicultural, distributed team (France/India).
• Fluent in English (written & spoken).
• Familiarity with IaaS/PaaS services, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Good to have skills in automation and scripting to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.
• Contribute to technological choices and architecture of the tooling of the team
• Ensure the delivery and operations of a consistent, resilient, scalable and reliable.
• Contribute to ensuring the security of the solutions offered to customers and their data

Specific Context

Risk of not doing -This role is critical for managing Socit Gnrale's cloud production issues and automation tasks, which are key objectives for the PRE team. This position is for a Lead Engineer who can guide junior engineers and ensuring smooth operations. Without this hire, the team's ability to manage critical issues and maintain platform stability will be significantly impacted.
