Lead System Engineer - HVAC
As a Climatic comfort System Engineer, you are responsible for passenger climatic comfort and for its system integration, made of HVAC, heaters and air distribution mainly. You thus endorse and ensure compliance with the Customer and Certification requirements on this scope by performing the following activities,
Your Responsibilities and activities:
- Specify the climatic comfort performances, at the train level.
- Define (or apply when already defined) the architecture of the function, allocating sub-functions to sub-system.
- Specify the sub-system requirements (HVAC, Heaters), to meet the required performances, achieve the required function and respect multidisciplinary constraints or guidelines (for instance Safety, EMC, Eco-design, Maintenance, Fire safety etc).
- Define the HVAC or heater required thermal performance, define the thermal targets, and budget them to the contributors (through K factor budget a).
- Lead climatic comfort design especially through the CFD computations steering the duct network design and its match with the HVAC.
- Close the loop with the component suppliers, especially the HVAC, on the design compliance with your requirements.
- Technically steer the supplier development, through design gate review and Mean of Proof approval.
- present/support the project team in front of the final Customer, to review the design and share the development.
- identify the technical risks and development of associated mitigation plans throughout the project development phase.
- Lead the verification and validation activities of climatic comfort function & sub-system integration:-
- tunning the system especially on air distribution, also by mock-up test (on the top of CFD) when needed.
- defining and steering the verification and validation plan.
- specifying Type test (functional and performances) and approve their result.
- Lead the HVAC system reliability growth by performing Root cause analysis with help of reliability engineers during revenue service (if needed)
Desired Profile:
- Engineering degree with preferably Thermal and Fluid dynamic backgrounds.
- 12 years of working experience in engineering, preferably in the climatic comfort field:-
- With performance and function responsibility at the vehicle level.
- In an industrial context, from design to entry into service, through all development phases with multiple and multidisciplinary partners.
