Job Description
Background details:
Job Title: Lead Specialist, Solution Architect (Forward Deployment Engineer, Enterprise Integrations)
Location: India
Employment Type: Regular Employee, Full-Time
About the Role
Pearson's Enterprise Integrations function is looking for a Forward Deployment Engineer to sit at the intersection of engineering and enterprise delivery. In this role, you'll embed directly with strategic and hyperscaler accounts to design, build, and troubleshoot the technical connections between Pearson's enterprise offerings and client systems: HRIS, LMS, identity, and data platforms.
You'll translate client-specific technical requirements into working integrations at pace, closing the gap between what our platforms are designed to do and what a given enterprise account needs them to do today. You'll provide technical leadership on defined integration projects, turning client and partner constraints into secure, viable integration architectures, and support delivery teams through implementation.
We're looking for someone with strong API management and infrastructure-as-code experience, a solid grounding in information security practices, and the stakeholder skills to work directly with enterprise and hyperscaler clients on technical scoping and problem-solving.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and deploy integration solutions between Pearson's enterprise products / platforms and client systems including HRIS (SAP TIH, Workday), LMS, and identity providers
- Work directly with strategic and hyperscaler accounts to scope integration requirements, resolve technical blockers, and accelerate time to value
- Partner with the Integrations Engineering Lead and platform teams to ensure client-specific builds feed back into reusable, scalable integration patterns rather than one-off solutions
- Act as the technical escalation point for enterprise integration incidents, troubleshooting and resolving issues in production
- Collaborate with our Integrations Product Management to translate client and partner integration needs into roadmap input and prioritised technical requirements
- Maintain technical consistency across assigned client integrations and ensure conformance to established integration architecture and security standards
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers within the integrations squad
- Document integration architectures, data mappings, and technical runbooks to support scale and knowledge transfer
- Support onboarding of new enterprise and hyperscaler integration partners as the platform scales
What You'll Bring
- Significant experience in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or integrations engineering role, ideally in enterprise SaaS or EdTech
- Confidence leveraging AI and adjacent technologies as they apply to integration design and solutioning
- Demonstrated experience building and supporting production integrations with enterprise identity, HRIS, or LMS systems (SAP, Workday, or equivalent)
- Experience working directly with enterprise or strategic accounts on technical scoping and delivery
- A track record of turning ambiguous, client-specific requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Working knowledge of API-driven and event-driven integration architecture: REST APIs, webhooks, event bus patterns
- Comfort operating with ambiguity in a function that is still being stood up
- Strong grounding in cybersecurity and information security practices as applied to client integrations
