About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned
ITX Specialist with strong leadership abilities to manage a technical integration team, oversee delivery execution, and ensure high‑quality transformation solutions using
IBM ITX (Transformation Extender) and the
ITX Pack for Healthcare Payer. This role combines hands-on technical depth with Scrum-based delivery management and contractor oversight to support mission-critical healthcare payer integrations.
What You Will Do
Team & Delivery Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of ITX developers and integration specialists, ensuring performance, accountability, and quality delivery.
- Oversee Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and reviews.
- Manage contractors and vendor partners, ensuring clear expectations, productivity, and adherence to project timelines.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and ongoing guidance to team members.
Technical Leadership
- Lead the design and implementation of IBM ITX-based integration solutions for healthcare payer systems.
- Architect and optimize maps and data flows for high-volume EDI transactions including 837, 835, 834, 270/271, 276/277.
- Ensure integration designs follow scalable, maintainable, and modular architectural patterns.
- Serve as SME for the ITX Pack for Healthcare Payer.
- Collaborate with business, DevOps, QA, and cross-functional teams to ensure resilient, compliant, and performant solutions.
- Support CI/CD integration and performance tuning initiatives.
Documentation & Quality
- Create architectural and interface documentation to support delivery, maintenance, and knowledge transfer.
- Perform impact analysis and ensure proactive resolution of scalability or performance concerns.
- Enforce best practices, coding standards, and healthcare data compliance.

- Deep expertise in IBM ITX, EDI healthcare standards, and payer domain integrations.
- Comfortable driving Agile delivery, planning sprints, and managing cross-functional expectations.

Qualifications
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 8+ years of EDI/integration development experience, with 5+ years of hands-on IBM ITX expertise in healthcare payer environments.
- Proven experience managing delivery teams, leading Scrum ceremonies, and planning engineering work.
- Experience managing contractors and vendor-based teams in complex integration projects.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA X12 transaction sets including 837, 835, 834, etc.
- Familiarity with IBM B2Bi, Sterling Integrator, or similar enterprise integration platforms.
- Expertise in scripting tools (Shell, JavaScript, Python) and working with cloud or container-based environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
