Job Description
Responsibilities
Build and maintain automations for Windows platform using Terraform, Chef and
Powershell
Provide technical expertise to the team and stack owners to manage the reliability,
performance, scalability, and security of the Coupa Cloud
Build upon the high standards of Coupa Cloud Operations through an automation-first
philosophy, collective ownership, and continuous learning
Own and deliver new features and refactoring existing codebase
Proactively monitor, identify, troubleshoot and fix the issues before they reach customers
Participate in an on-call rotation as required
Requirements
A degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 4+ years of professional experience.
Expertise In The Following Areas
Windows Server (and components like IIS, AD, WFC, etc.) administration and
maintenance
Automation development using Chef and Powershell for Windows, testing using
ChefSpec, Pester and InSpec
Terraform/OpenTofu or similar tools.
AWS cloud platform (Azure/GCP is a plus).
Git and GitHub Workflows
Knowledge of massive-scale public or private cloud operations, automation,
orchestration, and monitoring
Confident in ability to own and deliver projects, features and issues to resolution
Excellent communication skills in English.
Can think and act globally
Has a passion for solving problems and a strong automation mindset
Pre-screening questions
In Terraform, how do you handle state files in a shared environment to prevent conflicts,
and what are the risks of losing a state file
How do you design a Terraform module to be flexible enough for multiple teams (e.g.,
different environments or regions) without hard-coding values
Can you explain the difference between a Resource and a Recipe in Chef, and how
Chef ensures a node stays in its desired state if someone manually changes a setting on
the server
If a development team wants to deploy a legacy .NET application that isn't cloud-native
onto your platform, how do you approach teaching them to modernize their application
How do you use AI in your daily work
