Job Description
Framework Architecture & Setup
Framework Design & Setup: Build and configure a modular, maintainable Playwright test automation framework from scratch using design patterns like Page Object Model (POM) or keyword-driven architecture.
Script & Suite Development: Write, maintain, and refactor clean, reusable test scripts in Playwright for end-to-end ServiceNow workflows (e.g., Incident/Change/Problem Management, Service Catalog, Approvals, and Custom Applications).
ServiceNow Handling: Overcome ServiceNow UI automation challenges by designing custom utilities/selectors to handle dynamic iFrames, Shadow DOM, drop-down menus, glide-lists, and Service Portal widgets.
Authentication & Session Reuse: Implement efficient login state management using Playwright's storageState or API-driven authentication to bypass manual multi-step logins during execution.
API & UI Dual Verification: Integrate REST API testing alongside UI testing within Playwright to perform quick data creation, record teardowns, and backend validation directly on ServiceNow tables.
ServiceNow Testing Strategy & Execution
Upgrade & Regression Testing: Establish automated regression test suites targeting ServiceNow platform upgrades (e.g., Washington, Xanadu releases) to catch broken scripts or changed DOM structures early.
ATF Alignment: Complement ServiceNow's native Automated Test Framework (ATF) with external Playwright suites for end-to-end multi-role scenarios across non-ServiceNow integrated applications.
CI/CD Pipeline Setup: Configure parallel test execution and integrate test suites into DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) with automated HTML/Trace visual reporting.
Onsite Leadership & Delivery
Onsite QA Lead: Act as the primary QA point of contact onsite, interfacing daily with ServiceNow Architects, Functional Consultants, Developers, and Business Analysts.
Offshore Guidance: Direct the offshore test execution team, assign daily scripting tasks, enforce automation coding standards, and conduct peer code reviews.
Defect Triage: Lead defect triage meetings, track platform issues in Jira or ServiceNow Agile Engine, and report test execution metrics to senior leadership.
