The Impact you will have in this role:
The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and enhancement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve complex business problems.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement AI solutions such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI Workflows using advanced techniques in prompt engineering and fine-tuning of Large Language Models (LLMs) and frameworks such as LangGraph.
- Generative AI Application Development
- Conduct thorough evaluations of LLMs to ensure the models meet the desired performance criteria and are aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows, enhancing overall efficiency and capabilities.
- Develop robust evaluation metrics and benchmarks.
- Identify and address potential biases and limitations in LLMs.
- Develop and refine agentic workflows to empower AI systems to autonomously complete tasks.
Model Development and Deployment
- Design and develop machine learning models and algorithms to address business challenges and improve product features.
- Deploy machine learning models in production environments to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Design, develop, and refine complex AI models, including traditional machine learning and generative AI models algorithms to address business challenges and improve product features.
- Deploy machine learning models in production environments to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Optimize and refine models based on performance metrics and feedback.
- Architect scalable and efficient AI systems, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI research and technology.
Data Management
- Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to create robust datasets for training and evaluation.
- Implement data augmentation and feature engineering techniques to enhance model performance.
- Maintain and manage data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
Research and Innovation
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in AI and machine learning technologies.
- Conduct research to explore new methodologies and techniques that can be applied to current and future projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and implement cutting-edge solutions.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to align AI/ML initiatives with business goals.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and contribute to the upskilling of the team.
Performance Optimization and Scaling:
- Optimize AI models and systems for performance, latency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement strategies to scale AI solutions to handle increasing data volumes and user demands.
- Prioritize security, transparency, and privacy in AI development and deployment.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers and data scientists.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into business processes.
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation.
Talents Needed for Success:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field. Ph.D. in a relevant field is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in Machine Learning and Data Science.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong programming skills in Python experience with Machine Learning libraries and Generative AI frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, LangChain) and LLMs.
- Experience building Agentic AI applications using Langgraph or similar frameworks
- Experience developing and deploying AI solutions on AWS cloud platform. Additionally, experience on Snowflake Cortex is plus.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Tableau.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying AI solutions.
- Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
- Experience working with large datasets and performing data analysis.
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry is preferred.

The newly-formed IT Solutions department combines Application Development and Enterprise Application Support functions, allowing us to leverage synergies to support the Solutions business lines.
