Lead Software Engineer

The Impact you will have in this role:

The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and enhancement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve complex business problems.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Designs and implements solutions for business problems following DTCC's defined architectural guidelines and control standards
• Translates functional requirements into technical requirements and design
• Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost-effective solution for a new or existing design
• Handles and triages application issue escalations as well as able to liaise with clients / operations
• Proficient with agile development practices like Scrum
• Provides support to functional and performance Test teams as part of each agile sprint
• Provides production support as necessary
• Creates documentation in the form of quick reference guide and user manual
• Creates and maintains process documents to facilitate smooth handover to production support teams

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talent needed for success:

• Strong background in Hibernate, Spring, REST framework, Kafka
• Expertise in writing Java code
• Expertise in modernizing and migrating application workloads running in public and private cloud
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating system and shell scripting
• Having knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform is an advantage and scheduling tools such as Autosys
• Troubleshooting complex issues in AWS cloud
• Experience in ensuring the enterprise defined governance policies and audit compliance requirements are met
