Lead Software Engineer- ServiceNow

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

H&M Group is seeking a highly skilled and forwardthinking ServiceNow Platform Owner to provide endtoend design leadership across our digital ecosystem. In this role, you will shape and govern the architecture for automation, integration, and platform engineering capabilities with a particular focus on strengthening ServiceNow as a core enterprise platform, driving crossteam collaboration, and uplifting our engineering foundations.

You will act as a strategic technical leader, bringing a holistic understanding of H&M's technical landscape and applying deep handson expertise across DevOps, performance monitoring, scalable design, and multi-domain engineering, reflecting the expectations placed on H&M's lead-level engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Strategy & Technical Vision

• Define a long-term architectural roadmap aligned with H&M's enterprise strategy and evolving technology landscape consistent with the expectations for H&M leads to articulate forwardlooking technical direction.
• Establish architectural standards, patterns, and guardrails to ensure cohesive and scalable delivery across multiple product teams.
• Lead solution design efforts for initiatives that span multiple domains, ensuring smooth integration and collaboration across teams.

Strengthening the ServiceNow Platform

• Design and implement enterprise-grade automations leveraging ServiceNow workflow, orchestration, catalog, and integration capabilities.
• Define and standardize ServiceNow engineering patterns, including CI/CD, testing automation, modular architecture, and configuration governance.
• Integrate ServiceNow with cloud, data, and application platforms using scalable API and event-driven designs, supporting H&M's cross-domain integration needs.

Engineering Foundations & Platform Excellence

• Drive adoption of scalable, secure, and resilient engineering practices, ensuring best-in-class system design, performance monitoring, and reliability key expectations of the Lead Software Engineer role.
• Promote DevOps maturity through continuous delivery pipelines, observability tools, operational readiness, and fail-fast experimentation culture.
• Champion costoptimized architecture leveraging efficient cloud usage and resource allocation, directly aligned with H&M's focus on cost awareness and optimization.

Technical Leadership & CrossTeam Collaboration

• Act as a senior technical mentor to engineers, architects, and platform specialists, fostering collaborative ways of working a core leadership expectation at H&M.
• Facilitate technical decisionmaking across teams, resolving engineering challenges and balancing constraints, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Work closely with product, design, and engineering leaders to ensure architectural coherence across customer-facing, operational, and internal solutions.

Performance, Security & Operational Readiness

• Ensure performance goals, security controls, and reliability standards are embedded into architectural designs and implemented consistently across systems reflecting H&M's emphasis on performance tracking and security best practices.
• Lead the oversight of release, change, and incident processes to ensure stable and predictable software delivery.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and introduce innovations that strengthen H&M's global digital ecosystem.

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for people with:

• 12+ years in software engineering, enterprise architecture, or platform engineering, with experience leading crossdomain initiatives.
• Strong architectural expertise across ServiceNow, cloud platforms, API ecosystems, and distributed systems.
• Broad technical knowledge spanning frontend, backend, mobile, infrastructure, and DevOps reflecting H&M's crossdomain leadership expectations.
• Demonstrated ability to design scalable system architectures and deliver high-impact automation and platform capabilities.

Nice to have:

• The Certified Implementation Specialist Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM) (CIS-DF (CMDB and CSDM)) knowledge and skills to successfully design, implement, and operationalize a ServiceNow CMBD supporting the CSDM framework.
• A proactive, ownership-driven leader with a fail-fast, learn-fast mindset aligned with H&M's engineering culture.
• Skilled in navigating ambiguity, facilitating collaboration, and driving alignment across diverse technical teams.
• Passionate about continuous improvement, performance excellence, and enabling product teams through better architecture and automation.
• Experience in Developing Custom Applications and Exposure to various API integration patterns.
