As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments Technology, you'll join our Performance Engineering team, where you can elevate your career in software testing. We're seeking a seasoned professional with 8+ years of experience in performance testing, engineering, and optimization. Your expertise in identifying bottlenecks, crafting test strategies, and enhancing system performance is crucial. This role requires a proactive team player who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems meet top performance and reliability standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Strong backend programming experience in Java/Go, Python and Shell Scripting
- Extensive experience in performance engineering, performance testing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, BlazeMeter, K6 and Gatling.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace or AppDynamics. And, familiarity with Splunk for log analysis and monitorin
- Proficiency in Java and Java Spring Boot and Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Deep understanding of Developer Workflows and CI/CD process
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS/Azure/Google Cloud) is a plus
