Role Title: Lead Software Engineer

Position Summary:

Come join a dynamic Digital Web Engineering team in Global Technology at Marriott International. Lead a team of dedicated engineers to continue to enhance, evolve and transform the travel innovation platform for future of global travel while transforming your career. Collaborate across multiple enterprise and digital disciplines in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment to leverage best practices and the latest cloud- native tools and technologies.

Oversees day to day application development projects and software engineering for digital brand experience portal. Directly manages software engineers and project managers.

Champion of AI-first engineering, with hands-on expertise in deploying advanced AI modeling approaches such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), deep learning, and generative AI to solve complex business challenges

Lead a team of dedicated engineers to enhance and transform the digital web platform, with a strong emphasis on adopting an AI-first mindset and integrating AI/ML technologies into digital solutions. Delivers on commitments to discipline partners and collaborates with architects on major organizational initiatives across multiple channels & platform. Functions as the technical decision-maker and problem solver to deliver projects on time and on budget. Promotes project quality and manages the application development team to promote satisfaction with all technology teams and business partners by following standard application development tools and processes. Manages continuous improvement program to improve quality, consistency, and client satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable enterprise applications using modern full-stack technologies including ReactJS, Node.js, Java, Spring Boot, SQL/NoSQL, Kafka, and cloud-native platforms.
• Contribute to architecture design and integration of backend systems, APIs, and microservices-based applications.
• Participate in AI-enabled development initiatives by integrating AI/ML capabilities into enterprise applications and digital platforms.
• Develop and support cloud-native solutions on AWS/Azure with focus on scalability, performance, reliability, and automation.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and real-time data processing solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery environment.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC standards, coding best practices, CI/CD processes, release management, and deployment guidelines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering quality, automation, observability, and operational excellence.
• Support application modernization, system integration, and digital customer experience initiatives.
• Participate in troubleshooting, performance optimization, root-cause analysis, and production support activities.
• Work on Adobe ecosystem integrations including AEM, Analytics, Marketing Cloud, and customer engagement platforms where applicable.
• Implement automation and deployment processes across cloud environments and Adobe Cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to A/B testing implementations, experimentation frameworks, and customer experience optimization initiatives.
• Communicate technical solutions effectively with both engineering and business stakeholders.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, AI trends, and modern engineering practices to drive innovation within the team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong hands-on engineering mindset with ability to independently drive technical deliverables
• Experience working in product-based and cloud-native environments
• Ability to balance architecture understanding with implementation ownership
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and stakeholder communication skills
• Comfortable working in fast-paced Agile teams with multiple concurrent initiatives

Skill and Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering (software development & building products).
• Led the integration of large language models (LLMs) such as GPT, Google Gemini, and Llama etc. into enterprise applications, enabling conversational AI, and intelligent automation

Education and Certifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification
