We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to architect and scale our data governance and metadata management platforms. In this role, you will lead the development of robust systems that ensure data security, compliance, and discoverability across our infrastructure. You will act as a technical authority, bridging the gap between complex data engineering requirements and scalable, production-ready software solutions.
Key Deliverables
- Design and build high-performance services for metadata management, data classification, and lineage tracking.
- Develop policy-as-code frameworks to enable automated, fine-grained data access control (RBAC/ABAC).
- Build seamless integrations across streaming platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure end-to-end visibility.
- Implement automated workflows that streamline data access, auditability, and regulatory compliance.
- Integrate data quality and observability signals directly into our governance ecosystem.
- Enhance developer productivity by building intuitive APIs and self-service platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, product, and security teams to deliver compliant, reliable data solutions.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (BE, BTech, MTech, or MCA).
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with expertise in distributed systems, API design, and data modeling.
- Proven experience building scalable backend systems using languages such as Java, Go, Scala, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with data platforms including Kafka, Spark, and modern data lake/warehouse architectures.
- Deep understanding of access control models (RBAC/ABAC) and enterprise security best practices.
- Experience building automation and platform-level capabilities rather than one-off pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior exposure to data governance, data lineage, or metadata management concepts.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments where compliance is a core product requirement.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-platform integrations in a complex, large-scale technical environment.
